Pasadena Picnic Co. launched in January 2021 after two local mamas decided to join forces to bring a fun, outdoor experience to the Pasadena and the surrounding San Gabriel Valley community. While picnic pop-ups are nothing new to SoCal, Kaiy Smith-Biesman and Lena Kelly wanted to create a unique picnic experience that embodied everything they love most about Pasadena . These locally-inspired, intimate picnics provide the community with a way to celebrate safely with friends and family while enjoying the beautiful landscape that Pasadena has to offer.
As the owner of Stems, Kaiy Smith-Biesman has been providing Pasadena with beautiful, custom made cheese and charcuterie boards and leading virtual workshops to teach others how to build their own cheese boards at home. Stems is the talent behind all of the tasty treats that adorn each picnic.
With over a decade of experience in event production and marketing, Lena Kelly has helped many organizations create unique event experiences throughout Southern California. Lena carefully curates each element of the picnic to bring every client’s vision to life.
Through their combined talents and love of bringing people together, Kaiy and Lena have created a brand that treats guests to the best of what Pasadena has to offer, wrapped up in a perfect picnic.

Chau Yip joins Pasadena Picnic Co as the Lead Picnic Stylist. Chau is a local mama of two and knows just how to make every picnic special for our clients. Whether you are renting a Basic DIY picnic package, or selecting one of our upgraded Kids Spa Party packages, Chau will ensure every detail is in place for you and your guests!
